BOOK REVIEW - VIGILANTE by CLAUDE BOUCHARD
By louridd1 on Jan 9, 2010 | In Welcome | 1 feedback »

Do you enjoy fast-paced crime thrillers? If so, then VIGILANTE is the book for you! Written by author Claude Bouchard, it is the first of a series of 4 books featuring Chris Barry and Lieutenant Dave McCall. This action-packed book follows them through a twisty maze as they race to try to figure out the identity of the self-styled "Vigilante", who is rapidly working his way through a list of those who have committed heinous crimes, and thus far escaped prosecution. Follow the "Vigilante" as he taunts and teases them at every turn! With a few red herrings thrown in for good measure, VIGILANTE is sure to keep you glued to every page. This book is a real page-turner with a VERY surprising twist at the end, and is a MUST read.
The author is also a very talented artist, and you can visit him on the web at http://bigceebee.webs.com/

BOOK REVIEW - THE DARK PATH by LUKE ROMYN
By louridd1 on Jan 1, 2010 | In Welcome | 1 feedback »

THE DARK PATH is the story of a merciless torture-killer for hire, a man forced to confront the agonies of his past in order to save a child, and quite possibly, the world. Vain, aka The Dark Man, makes even the most hardened criminals tremble with fear, but finds within his dark self a spark of humanity that leads him on a quest to find a boy named Sebastian. It is the story of a man who literally goes to Hell and back in spite of what he has become. THE DARK PATH has pockets of humor that will make you chuckle and a shocking ending that will leave you gasping. To quote a friend, "this book is scarily good!"

A DAY OF WRITING...
By louridd1 on Nov 14, 2009 | In Welcome | 2 feedbacks »
I just spent most of my day on the couch with the laptop, working on my new novel, CARNIVAL OF MIRRORS, for National Novel Writing Month. I have written just over 15000 words, with about 4000 words having been added today; more than I have EVER written in one day! My right wrist and should are a little sore, so I may not write that much more tonight, but there is still tomorrow ![]()
I have some other projects I am working on, as well, and I hope that I will be able to get these done within the next month.
Wish me luck, friends and family. I'm also going to be looking into getting an agent...found one who is looking for new writers in my genres, so I'll be contacting her early next year with a sample or two of my work. That will be so exciting for me!!
NaNoWriMo is coming!!!!!

I've signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).
I'm excited to be doing this for the first time. Imagine such a challenge...starting November 1 and ending on or before November 30...write a 50,000 word novel. Wow. The thought of doing that is exhilarating and scary at the same time!
I will be in good company, though. I have 3 buddies lined up and hope for a few more - I think I'll need all the pep talks and encouragement I can get
Some folks think I'm CRAZY for doing this, but it's a challenge I just can't pass up...
So....after Nov 1 check back for updates...
FABULOUS FRIDAY
By louridd1 on Sep 25, 2009 | In Welcome | Send feedback »
Whoooeeee...it's almost the weekend. Taking my lunch break, just have to get through the afternoon and the weekend will be upon me. Not a bad day so far, all things considered...
Tomorrow will find me writing, writing, and writing some more. I have the whole day to myself and plan on using it wisely. Of course, my friends will find me on Twitter, but it's more fun that way. Then on Sunday we do the walk for AFSP (American Fund For Suicide Prevention) - still time to donate, folks, you can find the link two posts below. All donations gratefully received, think of us walking 5 miles on Sunday to save lives ![]()
I'll probably do another post tomorrow to let everyone know how the writing is going.
